Local Lore

The stories behind local businesses

Pull up a chair. There's a story here.

Local Lore is a free series that tells the stories of minority owned, LGBTQ owned and women owned businesses, and the allies who support them. You tell me how your business identifies, and that is what I go with. I sit down with the owner, then turn the conversation into a long video, short clips and a written piece.

Nominate a business

How it works

  1. You tell me about your business. Use the nomination form (about two minutes), or reply to my email.
  2. We talk. About 30 minutes, by video call, phone, or in person, whatever is easiest for you. A relaxed conversation about how you started and what you are proud of.
  3. You see it first. I send you the final video and article. Nothing goes public until you approve it. Then I post them on my website and social media, and you are welcome to share them too.

The promises

  • It is free. You never pay to be featured.
  • It is a story. Nothing is sold to you as part of the feature.
  • You control what is shared. You approve the video and the article before they go live.
  • I never publish your name, email or phone unless you tell me to.
  • The feature has no strings. After it is live, I will offer you a free marketing diagnostic as a thank-you: a short look at how customers find and choose your business, and a 15-minute call to go over it. Take it or leave it. Your feature never depends on it.

Who is behind this

I'm Angelina. I started Local Lore because local business owners have stories worth telling. I also run The Chairhand, where I help local businesses get found, get chosen and spend less time on admin.
